Reconciliation is not an aboriginal problem-it is a Canadian problem.
It involves all of us.
It was Justice Murray Sinclair, in his role as chairperson of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission from 2009 to 2015, who said those words. In doing so, he called on all Canadians- those whose families have been here for generations, and those newly arrived-to take responsibility for their role in reconciliation.
We all have a responsibility to enact reconciliation in our daily lives, in both small and big ways.
Healing Begins Now invites you to get involved to listen, to learn, and to take action to advance Indigenous reconciliation. In addition to our orange shirts, we have two upcoming events planned, a one-person play, Bloodline, that examines Indian Act harms, and a walk on the John A. MacDonald Parkway.
